On July 18, 2008, The Employee Rights Advocacy Institute For Law & Policy (The Institute) was recognized by the Ohio-based law firm Dworken & Bernstein Co., LPA and its sponsoring organization Ohio Lawyers Give Back, as one of 34 local, state and national nonprofit groups that received a portion of a $14 million cy pres award distribution, the largest in U.S. history. The donation was made possible by Dworken & Bernstein and Grange Mutual Insurance Company. "The Institute will use this extraordinary gift to make an immediate impact on its mission of ensuring equality and justice in the American workplace. We are honored to be among the many deserving organizations recognized by Dworken & Bernstein and Grange Mutual that are making a difference in our society," said Bruce A. Fredrickson, The Institute's president.
