The symposium examined the high failure rates of plaintiffs on pre- and post-trial motions in employment discrimination cases and explored potential strategies to reverse this growing trend.
The program provided an unique opportunity to engage across disciplines. We dedicated the program in memory of Professor Bob Belton, who passed away earlier this year. It was the Professor who dreamed up the symposium as part of The Institute's National Litigation Strategy Project (NLSP) Task Force and worked with us to make it a reality.
If you were unable to attend the program, materials for and video of each panel including the keynote address by U.S. Circuit Judge Denny Chin are available on the New York Law School Law Review website: http://www.nylslawreview.com/trial-by-jury-or-trial-by-motion-summary-judgment-iqbal-and-employment-discrimination/
